About our company

Music City Nuclear Pharmacy commenced operations in March 2005. It was founded by Allen B. Townsend, Jr.,Pharm.D., a 25 year veteran of the radiopharmacy industry. Townsend worked for Nuclear Pharmacy, Inc and its successors in increasingly responsible management positions for many years. After a life on the road, Townsend decided to form a new company in his own hometown, Nashville, Tennessee. The company was founded with just a few employees and a just few prescriptions per day. Over the past two years, MCNP has enjoyed substantial growth by providing excellent customer service, hands-on attention to detail on a daily basis, improved customer value and a myriad of innovative services. We are also an authorized local provider for the two premier heart imaging agents, Myoview* and Cardiolite*.

Music City can provide its services to an approximate 100 mile radius of Nashville. We have strong relationships with all of the major manufacturers and belong to an independent pharmacy GPO, United Pharmacy Partners, Inc. Belonging to this 150+ member pharmacy group allows us to participate in favorable purchasing contracts with all nuclear medicine suppliers. Subsequently, we have been able to pass these savings on to you. However, we still maintain our "hometown" character and make sure all your needs are met. Health Physic Services

Music City Nuclear Pharmacy is licensed by the Tennessee Department of radiological Health with RAM # R-19253-G17 to provide Health Physic Consulting services. We can provide the following services to your department as a feature of our full-service radiopharmacy offering:

1. All Dose Calibrator Testing: Linearity, Accuracy, Geometry

2. Sealed Source Testing: Leak Tests and Inventory

3. Meter calibration service; Survey meter and probes accuartely calibrated

4. RAM License and amendment assistance

5. Department radiation safety audits and in-services

New: ICANL Preparation Services Now Available

Music City Nuclear Pharmacy can now offer its customers expert ICANL preparation services. More and more insurance companies are requiring ICANL certification for processing their patient's claims and this service can be invaluable. MCNP utilizes a local expert to work directly with your department instead of a "voice on the phone." Also, MCNP's ICANL prep fees are a fraction of those being touted by large national companies. Your department will eventually need this certification and MCNP will be there to give you a hand.
